I've been cheated for months ....

on Saturdays I walk down from where I clean cars and, from my wages, I buy a bag of peanuts for my wild bird feeder.

When I first bought them, I asked the man if they were the cheapest, he said that they were (£1.50 for 1 Kg).

He was closed this Saturday, don't know why, so I went to shop a little past my bus stop - I could buy an extra 0.5 Kg there for the same price !!!

pffft

I watched the US Army defeat a lot of german tanks

I watched the Wicker Man burn

in a minute I'm going to watch 'The Fog'

Interesting day I guess

Had a fire drill, we were all outside about 10 minutes - the guys were complaining of the cold LOL they should try a winter in the Ukraine !

Might not be on here until much later, if at all, today - I'm going to a friend's house and then we're both off to swim club straight from there.

Gotta run ....

Stayed up way too late last night.

Started helping a whelp with their profile and things and ... [drops it into conversation] ... was chatting to CANCER

Anyhow it got to the point where there were creepy noises outside the door (I can take a hint) and I fell into bed at about 11:45

Crawled out again at 7:00 and was all set to go to work. Guy can't get his trailer loaded for some reason and calls me at 8:00 to say he's going to be late ! I could have stayed in bed pfffft

Anyhow eventually got out to suck some gloop out of a big pond. Something lumpy went up the pipe at one stage - I usually go check the filter but couldn't be bothered this time. It's usually just a lump of gloop, a dead fish or a dead frog - now I think about it some of my past 'victims' may have been alive before they went through the pump ... oh

Its a big pond so we'll be there for the next two weekends - least I know where I will be :)

Anyhow enough of fish ... back to hangman !

Poison

Times Read: 833

I found a thread where I think someone is going to give out a recipe that is going to make some people really ill.

This made me think on poisons and a game show on UK TV made me rush here and write this before I forget.

If you poisoned someone with Mercury and it got hot, would they get taller as they died ?

Busy VR day

19:31 Jan 19 2007
Times Read: 834

School was closed today, we weren't told. I waited for an hour but no bus came out for us. Thought I would be responsible, home alone an all, and called the school. It seems they had no power so school was closed.

I settled in to my homework and have it done for about the next month now.

Logged in to VR after noon (I don't bother during the 10:00 to 12:00 database backup, there's no point trying) and found a LOT of things waiting for the VR database, that took me two hours to work through that lot.

Went off to make my M&M character - rated some whelps - basically a good chilled day, but I have this feeling that there is something I should have done ....

I got it all done and submitted

Its approved - first rate comes in as a 10 - that's nice. Then one anonymous (=spineless) rate bring it crashing down, but some nice person stepped back in with a 10 to drag it back up to 6. something

Anyhow I have worked out who rated me 1, they must have had their reasons I guess

I seem to remember this happened last time.

Mwuahahaha They can rate the next one as low as they like, even I think its boring hehehehe

I could have kicked myself:

When I write an article and make a major update I save the whole thing as a new document. So, at the end of a couple of months' work, I might have five or six documents in my 'article folder'

This time it was even more complicated because I was also cross checking with my original article's document to make sure i didn't duplicate anything.

I copied the whole thing into my journal to add all the bold stuff and double check the formatting. then copy the completed code from my journal's edit section intro the article submission box

I had done all that, saved the final draft and deleted all the part word docs.

Next I got was a rejection message - the guy who sent it was one of the best, so I couldn't figure it.

Yup, I had copied one of the earlier drafts into my journal - if only I had looked at the content and not just the format - the reject wasn't the problem, the problem was that I had saved this draft document and not the final one

I have just spent an hour ironing all the bugs out again.

Then I resubmit, it takes an age to load and all I get is a white screen !!

Someone up there doesn't want this to be published, I can just tell ....

A blustery day

18:38 Jan 18 2007
Times Read: 857

Its been really exciting in the UK today, I know its nothing for you guys who get hurricanes and the like, but for the UK its simply unusual.

We live on a sort of moorland, we're well prepared for when it floods - we have food supplies and stuff all ready. We're used to the power going off, we have two of those lights that come on when the power fails and candles.

The wind picked up through the night. I love it when its all blowy and rainy and I'm all snuggled in bed.

In the morning we were diverted twice on the way to school. A garage roof had blown off and was laying on a railway line. A tree was being blown along in a flooded river and took out a road bridge.

Got into school and, at first break, we got word that people living in my area were being sent home in case we weren't able to make it later. So we all got minibused home.

I managed to complete my vampires article part 2, despite the power going on and off. managed to get it uploaded to the admin queue.

Anyhow the wind is picking up again. I've helped clear out the drain and get the dustbin into the shed.

Gonna be one of them nights .....

omg ... omg ... omg

I got my VR T shirt and a bunch of VR business cards in the mail today

and ....

and ....

I've been made a procurator.

There's just so much to click LOL

It looks so simple until you try to do it ! Ignoring the system message that I sent by accident - sorry bout that hehehe

You have to check that the item isn't already listed, go charging off all over the net to get pictures, descriptions and stuff

Dad was well impressed, he sat here completely lost with pages flicking backwards and forwards and an awful lot of cut & pasting going on - was fun

Anyhow .... back to work hehehehe ... I mean bed

Its true if you search for Vampire Rave or type http://vampirerave.com onto the school's computers address bar thing - you get a big box arrive demanding a supervisor's password or click a 'go back'. Stopped me dead in my tracks on Monday I can tell you *pout*

On Tuesday I had eMailed myself the direct link to the main forum - I used the login form on the right of that and taaaaa daaaaaa

Of course, I only use it lunchtimes and breaks *poker face*

Anyhow in marvellous *barf* geography we've turned to Australiasia and I got looking at the middle part which is mostly desert.

As usual I have a question. If there are any australian people out there ...

What was the guy who named 'Lake Disappointment' expecting to find ?

After months of trying I finally got a poll allowed LOL - its right there poll number 1697 .... HINT

I have to admit my first ones were a little off topic - how to bury a goldfish & duck tape v duct tape - but it was all I could think of

I still have to manage to get anything into the VR database - I've tried the form and PM the Procurators but no joy on any of the things I sent it ... its now my project to get this done

Its Saturday !

21:24 Jan 06 2007
Times Read: 924

Back to school on Monday, that's good - I am getting a little bored.

Washed cars all morning. Was good, I was allowed to do it indoors cos it was chucking it down with great lumps of rain. Nice and warm and I could listen to the music on the cars' radios.

Xmas had knocked most of my money but I managed to get a few £'s in my dish to be going on with ... that's good too

Fixed a friend's computer. Looks like he spends his time downloading porn and managed to download a virus per photo - one of em managed to stop the virus scanner running and he hadn't noticed: really messed it up, so we put the XP disc back in, formatted the lot and reinstalled it. Left him putting all his stuff back on it ... that'll keep him busy

I realised Wikipedia is an ever changing site. A guy on here quoted a lump of it as a reference - I don't doubt he C&P it faithfully, but when you visit the actual link he quotes it doesn't read the same now - I think you have to watch those 'under review' flags they have.

Anyhow whelps have been rated and journals read - one last visit to the froum then I'm going to play Twisted Metal until I fall asleep :)

That's better.

Long talk with Dad about the 'mark' argument, as usual I was looking at it from the wrong end.

I earned my Sire, even without the mark I would have got it anyway in a few more days ... if people are prepared to put the same amount of effort in as I have they can do it too ... I can't help when Xmas presents are given.

All I have to do is tell people, if they still can't cope with that - they have a problem, not me

I looked through LordLestat's journal and saw something that helped a lot. The routine Sandbox cleanout had wiped out a few 'marked' Sires status ... I still have 100%+ of my Siredom (if that's a word) ... also I see that some lifetime members don't have the mark of the Prince.

Anyhow with all that behind me ... I'm off to create havoc in the forums and rate whelps

Thanks to all those people who took the trouble to write the messages of support *hugggggs*

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't made Sire now, even though it means so much to me. I was so stoked to have got the Prince's mark, so happy. I was honest enough to say that without the mark of the prince I wouldn't have got it so early ... all that's started is fights in the Sandbox about why people should get the mark. There's now a thread asking how quick people have got it - stoopid thing is I only need another 3,900 pages views and, I think, 1.15 days to have made it without the Prince's mark, I've rated the whole site - all of it - twice ... it's caused so much trouble I just wish it would all go away.
